You will need:

Edibles:

Equipment:

  • cupcakes
  • Colour Splash dusts - white, poppy, red, blush
  • Culpitt Metallic modelling paste - gold
  • Cake Star modelling paste - red, baby pink
  • Cake Star isomalt
  • House of Cake Glitter pump sprays - gold, silver, rose
  • buttercream
  • Cake Star push easy cutters - shapes
  • Culpitt Baking Cases - red foil, gold foil, pink foil
  • FMM piping nozzle - no.10 star
  • piping bags
  • rolling pin

1

Roll out your Gold metallic paste, Red modelling paste and Baby Pink modelling paste. Select the open heart shape from your Push Easy Cutters set then cut and emboss the desired amount of hearts from the rolled out pastes.

2

Using two suitable containers, melt two portions of isomalt until runny. Add a small amount of Poppy Red dust to one container and a small amount of Blush dust to the other. For full dispersion of the colour, mix well then re-heat and mix again.

3

Make sure your isomalt is hot and runny before using a small palette knife to fill the centre of the open heart. Lay your heart on a smooth plastic cutting board and, in small amounts at a time, pour the isomalt into the centre. Gently move the isomalt around until the open heart is completely filled.

4

Repeat Step 3 with both colours and allow to cool. Once cooled, gently remove each of them from the cutting board with a small palette knife.

5

Mix up your buttercream and add a small amount of White dust.

6

Pipe your mixed white buttercream onto your cupcakes, lightly spritzing each with the House of Cake Glitter Pump Sprays.

7

To finish, top each of your piped cupcakes with an isomalt heart decoration.
