Cat card ideas: 12 designs for cat lovers everywhere

Want to create a paw-fect card for the cat-loving people in your life? Be inspired by these cat card ideas which are full of paw-sibilities! Plus, access a set of free digi papers!

Calling all cat lovers! Looking to wish someone a paw-some birthday, send ‘get well soon’ wishes, say ‘thank you’ or even just ‘hello’? This selection of cat greetings cards ideas packed with ‘catitude’ are perfect for feline-loving family and friends!

Three contributors, Emma Williams, Pauline Bird and Sue Hastead have each come up with their own ideas to inspire you. All the designs use our Catitude Stamp Set, along with our Catitude Craft Paper Collection, but you could easily replace with other stamp sets or craft papers from our online store! What do I need?

Method

  1. Create a 13x17.5cm white card blank. Cover the card front with black card. Cut chevron paper to 12.5x17cm and fix to the card front. 
  2. Trim one topper to measure 8x7.5cm and mount on black card. 
  3. Trim another to 5.5x9cm and again mount on black card. 
  4. Trim a sentiment to measure 5.5x4.5cm and adhere to black card. 
  5. Arrange and secure the cat toppers and sentiment to the card front using foam pads as shown.

Did you know…? There’s a day dedicated to celebrating cats! International Cat Day takes place every year on the 8th August – another reason to create these lovely cards!

What do I need?

Method

  1. Create a 15cm square card blank from Kraft card with the fold at the top.
  2. Cut orange/yellow confetti paper to 14cm square and mount on black card. Fix to the card front. Cut a second piece of the paper to 14x6.5cm and mount on pink card. 
  3. Attach across the centre of the card front. 
  4. Cut chevron paper to 9.5x11.5cm and mount on orange card. Fix to the left of the card front.
  5. Trim the cat topper to 7.5x9.5cm and using blending foam, apply the Pumice Stone ink to create a shadow underneath the cat’s feet.
  6. Use black ink to stamp three paw prints in the bottom right corner of the topper. Colour using pencils.
  7. Mount the topper on white card and create a border of faux stitching around the edges.
  8. Using foam pads, fix to the centre of the chevron panel.
  9. Cut the ‘Hello’ topper to 6.5x3.5cm and double mount on pink, followed by black card.
  10. Attach to the right of the card front using foam pads.
  11. Thread a pink button with twine and attach to the top left corner of the topper.

What do I need?

Method

  1. Create a 14.5cm square white card blank. 
  2. Cut orange paper to14cm square, mount on black card leaving a thin border and_ x to the card front. 
  3. Cut black confetti paper to 11x13cm and mount on black card leaving a thin border. 
  4. Attach to the left side of the card front. Cut brown confetti paper to 11x9cm, mounton black card and _ x to the black confetti panel. 
  5. Trim a topper to measure 7.5x9cm and double mount on orange then black card, each time leaving a thin border.
  6. Adhere to the right side of the card front using foam pads. 
  7. Tie three black buttons with orange twine and fix to the left of the topper. 
  8. Mount a card and attach to the bottom left of the topper using foam pads. sentiment on black

What do I need?

Method

  1. Create a 14.5cm square black card blank with the fold at the top. Cut orange paper to 13.5cm square and mount on pink card. 
  2. Fix to the card front.
  3. Cut black and white chevron paper to 14x3.5cm and mount onto pink card, leaving a thin border. 
  4. Attach the strip across the centre of the card front. Trim a cat topper to 6x8.5cm. Use black ink to stamp ‘meow’ from the stamp set in the top right corner. 
  5. Blend a small amount of Pumice Stone ink to create a shadow underneath the cat. 
  6. Triple mount the topper on pink followed by white, then black card. Using a black _ ne line pen, add a border of faux stitching around the outside of the topper. 
  7. Attach to the right of the card front using foam pads. 
  8. Cut a 4.5cm circle of white card and stamp a sentiment in the centre with black ink.
  9. Add a border of faux stitching around the outside and double mount on pink followed by black card. 
  10. Attach to the bottom left corner using foam pads. 
  11. Thread a yellow button with twine and adhere to the card front. 
  12. Add two Candi to either side of the strip.

What do I need?

Method

  1. Create a 17.5x13cm white card blank with the fold at the top. 
  2. Cut a 17x12.4cm piece of cat paper, mount on slightly larger black card and _ x to the card front. 
  3. Cut black card to 17x5.5cm and die-cut three 5.2cm squares. 
  4. Trim two toppers and one sentiment to measure 5.6cm square. 
  5. Adhere the images and sentiment behind the die-cut squares. 
  6. Layer the strip on white card leaving a thin border along the top and bottom.
  7. Cut black card to measure 17x8cm and punch or die-cut a zig-zag border (you could cut this by hand if you do not have a die or punch). 
  8. Fix behind the top and bottom edges of the strip, then adhere across the centre of the card front using foam pads.

What do I need?

Method

  1. Create a 10cm square white card blank with the fold at the top.
  2. Cut two 10x5cm pieces of patterned paper and _ x to the card front.
  3. Cut white card to 8cm square of card and stamp the image. 
  4. Colour as shown. 
  5. Stamp the sentiment next to the image and add some Gumdrops around it. 
  6. Fix the image to the centre of the card front.

What do I need?

Method

  1. Create a 9.5x13cm white card blank with the fold at the top.
  2. Cover the card front with patterned paper.
  3. Cut another piece of paper to 10x6.5cm and _ x to the card front. 
  4. Cut white card to 8x11cm die-cut a circular aperture in the centre top. 
  5. Place the sentiment from the papers behind the aperture and fix to the card front. 
  6. Stamp and colour the image, cut out and _ x to the card front with foam pads below the sentiment.

What do I need?

Method

  1. With the 12cm circle die, create a white card blank with the fold at the top. 
  2. With the same die, die-cut patterned paper and _ x to the card front. D
  3. Die-cut a 13x3cm strip of chevron paper and _ x across the centre of the card front. Stamp and colour the images and cut out. 
  4. Stamp the sentiment on white card and trim to a 5x1cm strip.
  5. Fix the sentiment and the images with foam pads to the strip on the card front.
  6. Add some Gumdrops to finish.

What do I need?

Method

  1. Create a 15.5x12.5cm white card blank with the fold at the top.
  2. Cover the card front with patterned paper.
  3. Cut white card to 13cm square. 
  4. Stamp the images on the card and colour. 
  5. Add the sentiments, using masking tape to conceal the lettering other than ‘purr’. 
  6. Create a 10x3cm strip of chevron paper and _ x along the bottom of the card front. 
  7. Stamp the sentiment on white card, cut out and _ x to the centre of the strip. 
  8. Add some sparkly Gumdrops to finish.

What do I need?

Method

  1. Create a 12x15cm white card blank. Cover the card front with patterned paper. 
  2. Cut dotted paper to 10x13cm and _ x to the card front. 
  3. Using the Gift Box die, diecut paw print paper and white card. Set aside. 
  4. Stamp and colour the images, then cut out. 
  5. Stamp the sentiment on one of the white card rectangles set aside earlier. Mount the paw print frame and the white card rectangles onto the card front, placing the sentiment in the bottom left. Fix the images with foam pads to the card front.

  1. Create a 14x10cm white card blank with the fold at the top. Cover the card front with patterned paper. 
  2. Cut a second piece to 11x8cm and _ x to the card front. 
  3. Die-cut a 13x3.5cm strip of white card and  stamp the sentiment on the right-hand side. 
  4. Fix across the centre of the card front. 
  5. Stamp and colour the image, cut out and _ x to the card front with foam pads. 
  6. Add a sparkly Gumdrop to finish.

Method

  1. Create a 15cm square white card blank. 
  2. Measuring 3.5cm from the opening edge of the card, cut away the right-hand side.
  3. Cut paw paper to 10.5x14cm, mount on pink card and attach to the card front. 
  4. Cut striped paper to 14cm square and mount on pink card, leaving a thin border. Fix to the card inside. 
  5. Cut two strips of cat paper, one measuring 11x4cm and the second 13.5x4cm. 
  6. Mount each on black card, leaving a thin border at top and bottom. Mount again on orange card.
