DIY dog Halloween cards: 3 pawsome designs!

'Treat-filled day' card

You will need

  • White, black & lilac card
  • Large Stitched Rectangle dies, Happy Howloween stamp set, Forest Border Lawn Cuts & Simple Stitched Hillside Borders Lawn Cuts by Lawn Fawn
  • Die-cutting machine
  • Tuxedo Black Memento inkpad
  • Blueprint Sketch, Shabby Shutters & Wilted Violet Distress inkpads
  • Copic marker pens (see guide at the bottom)

Method  

  1. Create a 14.5x11.3cm lilac card blank with the fold at the top.
  2. Die-cut two Large Stitched Rectangles from white card measuring 14x10.7cm. Colour the first by dabbing Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet inks until it is covered. Dab Shabby Shutters ink over the second piece, just at the bottom. Trim using the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders.
  3. Die-cut another rectangle the same size as the others from black card. Die-cut a Forest Border along the top edge. Layer the three pieces together to create a night scene and fix to the card front.
  4. Use black ink to stamp your chosen images on white card. Colour with Copic marker pens (using the guide to help you). Trim them to size. 
  5. Arrange the images on the card front and when happy, stick in place. Stamp your sentiment across the bottom of the card front.

'You're cute to the bone' card

You will need

  • White, black & lilac card
  • Large Stitched Rectangle dies, Happy Howloween stamp set, Forest Border Lawn Cuts & Simple Stitched Hillside Borders Lawn Cuts by Lawn Fawn
  • Die-cutting machine
  • Tuxedo Black Memento inkpad
  • Blueprint Sketch, Shabby Shutters & Wilted Violet Distress inkpads
  • Copic marker pens (see guide at the bottom)
  • A Birdie Told Me stamp set by Lawn Fawn

Method

  1. Create an 8.8x12cm lilac card blank. Diecut two Large Stitched Rectangles from white card, measuring 8.2x11.4cm. Colour the first with Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet ink, then the second with Shabby Shutters ink just along the bottom. Trim this piece using the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders.
  2. Die-cut another rectangle the same size as the others from black card. Trim the top edges using the Forest Border die. Layer the three pieces together and fix to the card front.
  3. Stamp your chosen images on white card using black ink. Colour with Copic marker pens, using the guide to help you, and trim them all to size.
  4. Place your images on the card front and when happy with the arrangement, stick in place. Stamp the sentiment across the bottom.
  5. Stamp ‘Boooooo’ and a speech bubble on white card. Cut out and fix to the top of the card front.

'No tricks, just treats' card

You will need

  • White, black & lilac card
  • Large Stitched Rectangle dies, Happy Howloween stamp set, Forest Border Lawn Cuts & Simple Stitched Hillside Borders Lawn Cuts by Lawn Fawn
  • Die-cutting machine
  • Tuxedo Black Memento inkpad
  • Blueprint Sketch, Shabby Shutters & Wilted Violet Distress inkpads
  • Copic marker pens (see guide at the bottom)
  • Scalloped Box Card Pop Up Lawn Cuts by Lawn Fawn
  • A Birdie Told Me stamp set by Lawn Fawn
  • Acetate

 Method 

  1. Die-cut all of the elements needed to create the Scalloped Box Card Pop Up from lilac card. Stick the pieces together as per the manufacturer’s instructions to create your pop up box card.
  2. Follow Steps 2-3 from the first card to create four layered rectangles in two small sizes. Fix to the outer sections of the box card.
  3. Use black ink to stamp a selection of images on white card. Colour with Copic marker pens and trim to size. Also stamp some speech bubbles and add sentiments inside. Trim to size.
  4. Cut several thin strips of acetate. Stick some of your stamped images and a speech bubble to the ends. Attach the other ends inside the layers of the box card. Add your remaining images to the outer section and the layer inside to complete.

  • Fairy outfit – R32, Y35, YR15, E37
