Homemade Mother's Day cards: step-by-step tutorial

DIY Mother's Day cards

'Happy Mother's Day' card tutorial

You will need

• Making Cards & Papercraft Bonus Digital Craft Papers 
• White and black card
• Black pearls
• Red card
• Black ribbon
• Red twine
• Black adhesive gems

Method: 

1. Create a 15cm square white card blank. Trim floral paper to 14cm square and mount onto black card measuring 14.5cm square.
2. Trim red card to measure 14x6cm and fix across the bottom half of the floral papers. Create a tiny strip in black card and use it to cover the join.
3. Cut around a sentiment to measure 7.5x11cm. Cut diagonally across the top corners to create a tag shape. Mount onto black card leaving a narrow border. Create a hole centrally in the top and thread through black ribbon, ends trimmed horizontally, as shown. Secure with a red twine bow. 
4. Add row of three black gems to the bottom left corner then fix the tag to the card front at an angle using foam pads to finish. 

'Mum you are the best' card tutorial

You will need

• Making Cards & Papercraft Bonus Digital Craft Papers
• White and black card
• Black pearls
• Pink card
• Crafter's Companion Stitch Edge Circle Dies
• Tonic Circle Layering Dies

Method

1. Use white card create a 13x18cm white card blank.
2. Trim patterned paper to 12x17cm, mount onto black card measuring 12.5x17.5cm and fix to the card front. 
3. Cut pink card to 5x17cm, mount onto black card measuring 5.5x17.5cm and fix on the left side. 
4. Create two fishtail-shaped pieces by trimming diagonally into the bottom of a pink and black rectangle and fix to the top right corner. 
5. Cut out one of the sentiment toppers using an 8.1cm Stitch Edge circle die and attach to a slightly larger circle cut from black card. Adhere to the card front in the position shown using foam pads to finish.

Bright Mother's Day card tutorial

You will need

• Making Cards & Papercraft Bonus Digital Craft Papers
• White and black card
• Black pearls
• Red card
• Crafter's Companion Stitch Edge Circle Dies
• Tonic Circle Layering Dies
• Black adhesive gems

Method

1. Create a 15cm square white card blank. Trim patterned paper to measure 14.5cm square and mount onto black card measuring 15cm square. 
2. Cut red card to 14.5x9.5cm. From the top, measure 4cm down the right edge and make a mark. Cut diagonally from the top left corner to this mark to remove the corner. Fix the panel to the floral paper, bottom edges flush. Create a small strip of black card and cover the join. 
3. Cut out one of the sentiments using an 8.1cm Stitch Edge circle die and attach to a slightly larger circle cut from black card. Adhere to the leftside of the card front using foam pads. To finish add three black gems to the bottom right corner.

You will need

• White and black card
• Black pearls
• Pink card

• Tonic Circle Layering Dies

Method

1. Create a white card blank measuring 18x14cm with the fold on the top edge. Cut patterned paper to 17x10.5cm. 
2. Measure 3cm up the right side from the bottom corner and make a mark. Cut diagonally from the bottom left corner to the mark to remove the corner then fix to black card measuring 14.4x13.5cm, close to the top edge. 
3. Cut out one of the sentiment toppers using an 8.1cm Stitch Edge Circle die and attach to a slightly larger circle of black card then another slightly larger circle of pink card. Adhere to the card front using foam pads as shown. Cut a small fishtail banner from pink card and tuck under the left side of the patterned paper as shown to finish.
