Stitch your way through the year with Susan Penny's 12-month stitch-a-long. The SAL is made up of 12 beautiful designs which you can create as single months, or together to form one large, stunning piece of cross stitch, complete with a border.

If you're planning on making the complete design with all 12 months stitched together, it's a very large piece at nearly one metre long! The border edge will be supplied with part 12 of the SAL and is added at the end around the edge. Be sure to follow the instructions on the PDF and count carefully before you start stitching!

First up is... you guessed it... January!

You will need

  • 'January' chart (download below)
  • Fabric – 14 count blue aida (15x18cm (6x7in) for individual design, OR 100x20cm (39½x8in) for all 12 months)
