Step 1

  • Make for evenly spaced marks for drilling the holes.
  • Use a very fine drill to carefully make the holes in one hanger.
  • Put the drilled hanger on top of the 2nd one and tape together before drilling identical holes on the second one.

Step 2

  • Use a craft knife to carefully cut away the bottom rail.
  • Sand the corners so they are gently rounded.
  • Smooth all over with sandpaper.
  • Close up the hanger with pliers until it is a ring.
  • Paint the hangers black or white to suit your decor.

Step 3

  • Take 4 pointed ended (both ends) cocktail sticks and push them as far as they will go through the holes.
  • Snip off the sharp points with scissors.
  • Use a drop of glue to hold them in place if required.

Step 4

  • Tie some neutral coloured fine string or cord to each ring, then thie each end together in a knot.
  • To use in the kitchen to hang pots and herbs from, you will require some S shaped hooks or thin florists wire.
  • Suspend the hanger from the string as you hang items to balance the weight of the hanging items.
  • For the laundry room or bathroom, add folded linen of various shades and varieties.
