Clothes Airer or Pot Hanger

Materials Required
- Two miniature wooden coat hangers
- Wooden cocktail sticks
- PVA glue
- Fine cord/cotton
- Selection of items for hanging
- Fine sandpaper
Tools Required
- Craft knife
- Very fine drill
- Pliers
- Scissors
- Ruler
For this project we are using two miniature coat hangers for the main frame of the hanger, I have also included a template for those of you who wish to cut out your own frames.
Step 1
- Make for evenly spaced marks for drilling the holes.
- Use a very fine drill to carefully make the holes in one hanger.
- Put the drilled hanger on top of the 2nd one and tape together before drilling identical holes on the second one.
Step 2
- Use a craft knife to carefully cut away the bottom rail.
- Sand the corners so they are gently rounded.
- Smooth all over with sandpaper.
- Close up the hanger with pliers until it is a ring.
- Paint the hangers black or white to suit your decor.
Step 3
- Take 4 pointed ended (both ends) cocktail sticks and push them as far as they will go through the holes.
- Snip off the sharp points with scissors.
- Use a drop of glue to hold them in place if required.
Step 4
- Tie some neutral coloured fine string or cord to each ring, then thie each end together in a knot.
- To use in the kitchen to hang pots and herbs from, you will require some S shaped hooks or thin florists wire.
- Suspend the hanger from the string as you hang items to balance the weight of the hanging items.
- For the laundry room or bathroom, add folded linen of various shades and varieties.
