Miniature surfboard using polymer clay tutorial
You will need
- Polymer clay
- 2mm spacers
- 3mm spacers
- Roller
- Needle/scalpel
- Baking method
- Sandpaper
- Dry rub on decal paper
- Doming resin
- Superglue
Instructions
1. Roll out some polymer clay using 3mm spacer sets, cut around the surfboard template using a needle or scalpel.
2. Repeat step one, but with 2mm spacers, and use the surfboard fin template. Try choosing another polymer clay colour here for a modern contrasting look.

3. Make both polymer clay pieces. Bake in an oven at 130°C for 30 minutes. Once cooled, use a piece of sandpaper to take off the rough edges.
4. Print your chosen design onto some dry rub on decal paper. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on how to apply it to your polymer.
5. Using some doming resin, mix two parts A to one part B, and carefully pour onto the surfboard. Start with a small amount, and ease the resin to the edges. Once all the edges are found, top up the middle, but be careful not to flood it.
6. Using superglue, apply your fin to the back of your surfboard.
