Drapes in the Style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh
Charles Rennie Mackintosh (7th June 1868 – 10th December 1928).
Mackintosh was a designer in the Arts and Crafts movement and his style had considerable influence on European design.
His style is instantly recognisable with his clever use of straight lines with styalised flowers often roses inset within them.
Curtains and drapes were very plain, as windows often had a stained glass design or leading. These miniature 12th scale curtains have been inspired from the drapes hanging in Mackintosh’s sitting room at Hill House.
The glazed pelmet is my own creation, I felt the drapes needed something extra that shouted out “Mackintosh” I think it works well.
