Miniature Easter eggs in polymer clay by Sadie Brown.
Learn how to create simple but glamorous miniature Easter eggs using polymer clay in this easy-to-follow tutorial with just six steps – perfect spring additions to your dolls house or miniature scene!
Easter is upon us and there’s no reason why we can’t celebrate it in miniature! The Easter Bunny shows you how to create these egg-cellent and oh-so-sweet miniature Easter eggs – with a little help from Sadie Brown! Enjoy!
DIY miniature Easter egg tutorial

You will need
- Polymer clay: brown, yellow, apple green, pink, purple and white
- Pastels: apple green, yellow and brown
- Sculpey Bake & Bond (or similar)
- Gold metallic acrylic paint
- Matte varnish
- Superglue
- Small round shape cutters
- Roller
- Small brush
- Needle
Method
1. Cut a circle of brown polymer clay measuring 2.2cm for the larger egg base and about 1.8cm for the smaller egg. Brush lightly with Bake & Bond and add a grassy green pastel mix (apple green/yellow/ brown) liberally over the top before baking.
2. Roll a 1.5cm ball of brown clay into the shape of the large egg and 1.2cm for the smaller egg. Stick them to the baked bases with Bake & Bond.
3. Roll tiny pieces of clay into small carrots, size depending how large you want your flower to be. Flatten/spread with a fingernail to create petals. Lever off your work surface with a needle and arrange into flowers with between four and six petals. Add a tiny ball of clay to the flower centres. To create the petals with two colours it’s exactly the same process, but with the initial carrot shape made from two blended clays.

4. To create the leaves, mix apple green clay with a little brown and yellow to create a leafy shade. Roll two carrot shapes and flatten. Score a line down the middle of the leaves. Brush with a little mixed apple green/brown/yellow pastel.
5. Use Bake & Bond to adhere the tiny flowers around the bases, sticking one flower to the front of the eggs themselves, along with one of the leaves. Bake alongside three tiny eggs, shaped from 2mm balls of brown clay.
6. For that final, luxurious flourish, paint the three tiny eggs with gold acrylic paint. Coat everything with matte varnish and glue the gold eggs into position at the front of the main eggs – one on the small version and two on the larger one.
And there you have it, the perfect Easter project to bring the joys of spring into your miniature scene!
