Learn how to create a fabulous floral fan using free machine embroidery and plastic entrapment, with textile/mixed media artist Nikki Parmenter, in this exciting live webinar!
Fabulous Floral Fan with Nikki Parmenter
Thursday 25th November at 7pm-9pm (GMT)
In the webinar, Nikki will introduce you to the technique of free machine embroidery and plastic entrapment. This involves layering pieces of plastics and cellophane between two A4 sheets of clear plastic PVC, on to which you will trace a floral design using permanent marker. First you will stitch around the outline then fill in some of the remaining areas with thread.
Nikki will then show you how to cut sections out of the plastic to create a stencil effect and suggest ways to embellish the fan. She will then demonstrate how to wrap the six struts for the fan and make a tassel as a finishing flourish. You will be able to download the fan template and Nikki's materials list ahead of the live webinar. The full details and link will be included in your webinar registration confirmation email.
